fashion from the floor up !

At a recent visit to Harris Museum, my eyes weren't attracted to the paintings, sculptures, ceramics or artifacts. They were attracted to the floor !

I couldn't help but think the greek mosaic tile flooring in the museum resembled the iconic print used in many Versace collections. Most recently used in Donatella Versace's designs for Versace's Spring 2011 Ready-To-Wear collection.

PVC was used in this design to create the greek print.

Commenting on the collection Donatella stated "I dedicate this collection to the glamour of Versace."

Donatella went back to the roots of the fashion house by using the iconic greek symbol, however with this collection the designs were a mixture of old Versace which showed off a bit of skin but with a freshness and sexiness created by the below the knee silhouette which stopped the collection from looking vulgar.

The print is apparent with this design but altered to create fringing which made the garment look more fresh.
